Wasting Time

I have a new Television Series fascination. This of course means that I did very little this weekend. I rushed home last night from work and laid on my bed for hours doing little else but holding my breath to see how the episodes would end. I am captivated. Will Jack Bauer get arrested and have to go to Federal prison? (I'm certain he will find a way out --he's too cool for that) Will his daughter finally get herself away from the loser with crack dealing friends? Will the presidential nominee's wife just shut up and stop being Lady Macbeth?? "24" is officially the coolest TV series I've watched in a while. "Lost" is my favorite...but this is going to probably tie that. If you haven't seen any episodes I highly suggest it.

While this is fun and cool... it has also made me realize that I both love and despise TV. It is entertaining. It is fun. It captivates my imagination. --but do you have any idea how much time I waste with it??!!! I am a little upset with myself for being such a bum. When I have an entire series on DVD I go way overboard. There is no stop for a commercial or wait for the next week's episode. All you need to do is stay awake and you can watch it ALL! I do not have much self control when it comes to that. When Season One is done (I have one disk left) I'm gonna have to wait for a while before tackling Season Two. My brain can't handle the overload. I need sleep and regular life to resume. So while its fun... I SO need to find some sort of happy medium to watching these. Feeling like a slacker when it comes to everything else in my life...and I hate that.

I am an entertainment junkie. I figure if I realize my problem I can work towards it. I'll just binge on occasion and in between I'll be so responsible I'll impress myself! (until October when Lost: Season Two comes out). Oh well!! :)

I just don't get how some people waste so much time with frivolous activities such as tv shows . . .(can we borrow the DVD set when you're done?)
