The Business of Banquets

The semester is almost over. It is time for tests, papers, projects and banquets. Last weekend I attended a banquet and was inducted to the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society. Phil was inducted to the Beta Gamma Sigma Business honor society. To all of you who were not already aware.... Yes. I am a nerd. :)

Phil was kind enough to come with me and listen to a history lecture. :)

See how much fun he had?

Ashley - One of my very cool pals from the history department.

The advantage of being in a small "pond" of history graduates...

(but one I am very thankful for)!

I was able the privilege of comparing the history banquet with the business banquet. Let me just say that in the business field... it appears that for success, one must have good grades followed by personable qualities, a nice suit, and have a lot of contacts in the business world. In the history field a success appears to be one who has at least 30 years of experience, has 4 degrees, and has spent years alone reading and writing books, traveling, and giving long lectures (years studying archives overseas is also exceptionally impressive).

Here's to my future 30+ years of boring you non-history people! :)
