The truth is... I just really don't like my job. Its too boring. I just sit around doing menial tasks until someone brings me yet another menial task. Any mental stimulation I get comes from the moments I am reading a history article or studying my bible online during working hours. Now I know it sounds extremely pleasant - but if you are a person who enjoys achieving a successful day's work, this is very disheartening and boring. Ah well. "in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content.." that is a killer.
On a positive note, I had a great weekend. We had a church picnic yesterday afternoon. It was probably one of the most enjoyable days I've had since I moved here. We all played games and laughed and ate and talked. It was great. I have discovered a new game - that I somehow missed out on as a child - Kick the can. It is a derivative of hide-and-go-seek and is way fun! --especially if you are playing with half kids and half adults. I kept finding a good hiding spot and then I'd have four kids come loudly beside me. It is quite amusing trying to hide behind a car when you have a little boy with a light saber kneeling next to you asking questions and accidentally making his toy sound off with loud star wars noises. Its a wonder I wasn't it every time!
Another fun part of the day is when I tried to entertain all the kids by starting a game of kickball. Now in my mind this is one of the most basic, easy and fun games for kids to play. Can it be that no one teaches their children kickball? Well apparently that is sometimes the case. I'm standing ready to pitch, I have a two year old holding onto my leg and I roll the ball towards his older brother. He kicks the ball and then stares at me with a blank look. Does it register that I have yelled four times for him to RUN!!?? Nope. He just stood there. This was repeated unsuccessfully about 4 times before he finally was pronounced out. It kept cracking me up so I was doubled over laughing my head off every time he looked clueless. (this is not the best way to actually TEACH a kid how to play kickball) Needless to say, we abandoned the game before long, but not after I had enjoyed quite a bit of merriment. Definitely worth the effort from that viewpoint.
Now that I have written some cheery comments and drank my luscious latte I have a smile on my face and feel as though I can take on the world. :) I joined blogger in order to comment on a friend's site...but this may turn out to be very therapeutic. When life hands you boredom - entertain yourself!

hope your sinus infection has cleared up. I know how much they suck. For some reason I seem to have recurring seasonal sinus infections...they tend to come early in January EVERY DAMN YEAR - no exceptions - how irritating!!!
