So the big story in the news today is how QB Ben Roethlisberger had a motorcycle accident - while not wearing a helmet. How amazing that he only seems to have hurt his face and not anything else. I guess the plethora of hair on his face didn't provide any protection - that is surprising. Now, I have mixed feelings on this subject. For one thing - who rides a motorcycle in Pittsburgh on the highway without a helmet? That is just not using common sense. As a female - I just don't get the drive for guys to do dangerous things without taking precaution. Does it make you feel superior somehow to be dangerous? Excitement and risks are fine and cool - but you don't have to be stupid. James and John laugh when my mother and I worry over their dirtbike rides - but what do you expect when they keep crashing and coming home covered in scrapes and bruises? At the very least you can protect your skull. Second - I think that it sucks for him! He's now sitting in the hospital after having major surgery with an aching face hearing non-stop commentary on his accident. Worst of all, he has provided opportunity for Terry Bradshaw to say I told you so. That must bite! ESPN radio has played clips of BR saying he'll do what he wants and make his own decisions all day. I guess that's what happens when people record everything you say. --glad people don't do that to me! (and now you know that I am becoming a sports geek)
Work is still slow, but I'm enjoying it today. "Tainted Love" has just come on the radio - I love that song! *grins* "Some times I feel I've got to - run away.."
I promise that I have been using my brain a little today. In between labeling and stuffing envelopes I have found a copy of James Ussher's "Annals of the World" online. I've been doing some research on bible dates. I want to apply my love for history and dates to the bible. I intend to research the dates so I can lay it all out and then do some studying on prophecy and Daniel's 70th week and stuff. It is way cool and though I learned it at PBI I think I'll actually pull it all together and make sense of things if I study it for myself. So maybe I will wow everyone and discover the date of the 2nd advent or something. ya neva know!
